Favorite prop? Sandbag weights
Primary practice? Asana and Pranayama
Teaching style? I really like teaching Hatha Flow, but taking it slow is also important. That’s why my workshops are usually slower paced like Pranayama and Restorative Yoga.
What poses do you always teach? Parivrtta Parsvakonasana and Trikonasana.
Favorite pose? Hanumanasana with my right leg forward
Least favorite pose? Hanumanasana with my left leg forward
Favorite Tokyo neighborhood? Akasaka
Favorite fruit? Strawberries!
Favorite tunes for yoga? I’m actually not a music person, so if you have suggestions, I’m definitely open to them!
What do you always do when you ride the train? Check my emails. Gather ideas for kids yoga. If the ride is longer than 15 minutes, I do some Pranayama!
Most embarrassing yoga moment? When I got a back spasm transitioning from triangle pose directly to downward facing dog and couldn’t get up for 5 minutes. At least I was just in class as a student and not a teacher!! But very important lesson learned!!! Transition between poses is one of the most important things in Asana practice!
Interests outside of yoga? Cooking. Porcelain painting. Running (always just aiming 5k in 30min. Nothing more, sometimes less).
Special talent? I can juggle.
Hunter or gatherer? Hunter-ish gatherer.
What word do you always say or spell wrong? Recipe and Receipt. Thank you autocorrect for spelling it for me this time, too!
Anything else you want to add? I don’t mind eating pizza for dinner
